Molly Cordis. LICSW, works with adolescents and adults of all ages. Her areas of specialty include treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma and grief. In addition, she is skilled in helping clients navigate life transitions and heal from challenges relating to self-esteem, and identity and relationships.
Prior to joining Acton Psychological Associates, Molly worked as a clinician at the high school level providing counseling for students with diverse mental health and academic needs. She was also part of the primary clinical staff helping students transition back to school following mental health absences. In addition, she has worked in outpatient therapy centers providing diagnostic and therapeutic treatment for clients ranging from age 8-55.
Molly recently completed a three year fellowship in Cambridge providing long term outpatient therapy to adults both in person and through telehealth.
She draws from several clinical modalities including relational, psychodynamic and attachment-based approaches integrating techniques from DBT, CBT, and EMDR.
Molly has specialized training in psychodynamic and relational attachment and is very attuned to what her clients bring to the session. She helps them develop insight into the root of their problems which gives them the opportunity to create positive changes within themselves and develop healthier patterns of functioning.
She has a warm engaging therapy style that emphasizes collaboration, shared understanding, authenticity and utilizes humor when appropriate.
Molly received her MSW from Smith College and has an M.Ed. in Social Justice Education from University of Massachusetts in Amherst which informs her work in that she is always interested in how societal structures such as racism, classism, and ableism impact mental health and relationships.
